# Help Vaccine Hesitant Parents: Trust, Listen, Recommend, Make It Easy How do we help parents who are unsure about vaccinating their children? I use a four-part approach: trust, listen, recommend, and make it easy. According to the CDC’s August 7, 2026 update, the U.S. had 2,465 confirmed measles cases through August 6, with 94% occurring as part of outbreaks — clusters of at least three related cases. The harder problem is not simply presenting more facts. It is understanding what a parent is actually worried about, addressing that concern honestly, making a clear recommendation, and removing practical barriers to vaccination. I also discuss common concerns about vaccines and autism, how to respond without turning the conversation into an argument, and why sometimes the solution is not better persuasion — it is making the right action easier.
